Gyeongju - City of Kings

Ulsan Online's Gyeongju Gallery

Gyeongju is home to Korean’s history. The first nation to unify the peninsula, Shilla, was founded in Gyeongju. It grew from a small city state to a nation that conquered all of it’s neighbours. Littered with ruins, temples, tombs, parks and museums, Gyeongju is, along with Seoul and Jejudo, considered a MUST see for people visiting Korea. The city lies directly north of Ulsan, about 35km from Ulsan city center.

If you are going to try and understand a country, it’s people and it’s culture, you may as well start at the beginning.
