I know of no night classes.  But a more likely scenario is a language exchange.  Find a Korean friend who wants to study English and is willing to trade for Korean lessons.  The Skype English Club (check out ulsanonline.com/Culture for a link near the top) would be a great place to find a Korean who wants to study English if you don't already know one.  In my experience, though, you can throw a stick down any street and hit a dozen people who would want to study English.

Can anyone tell me where I can take Korean classes in Ulsan. I know there are online courses and I've done some of those, but I work better and I learn best with the pressure of someone saying oh you have a test and with other students that are physically there and a teacher that is physically there so I feel guilty about not doing my work. Heh.

I also don't just want survival Korean. For the most part, I have that. I want to really learn.

I know Ulsan University has some classes but it's all during the day when I am working (8:30-5)

I need something at night or on the weekends.

Thanks.

Hi all,
Interested in Taekwondo?  We are a group of foreigners who take a class in English up to three times a week.  We had a pretty big class but some of our members have left back to their respective homes and we are missing the social aspect of learning how to kick many times in the air at high speeds.  If you want to give Taekwondo a try contact me for further information at burnettsam@hotmail.com.  Its a really good time and a great workout and we need more people!!

its hit or miss here in Ulsan. I've found the docs at Good SamJeong in Mugeodong to have a little English.
But depression is still regarded as one of those "oh my" things as Ulsan is still not as progressive as other cities.

Good luck.

Hi
I haven't been in Ulsan long. In the past (within Korea) I have found it relatively easy to get access to
an english speaking doctor with regards to anti-depressants/and a sleep disorder I have.
Here in Ulsan I have found it a little more difficult, for one thing, my co-workers here insert themselves too much when I ask for assistance. (The last time I asked for their help, one took me to a Doctor who spoke no english and therefore required that they came in with me, then they proceeded to discuss the details, meds/cost etc with all my  co-workers... never again.)

I'm in Buk-Gu and was going to go to Dong Kang Hospital, its a little out of the way but would be worth it for good service.
I have read online they offer english service but I have had no luck finding anyone who speaks english/ or can find someone who speaks english when I call.
any help or suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

Cruise through these forums a bit - JT, our photographer on UlsanOnline, has posted before on his offers of fine photographs of this city and Korea in general.  Of course, if you're really cheap, you can just run the front page photo gallery on your laptop and see his photos

Any update on Soccer in Ulsan?  If there is anything happening I'd definitely be interested in checking it out.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I could find some decent posters, photography, art prints or anything else to spice up my apartment?  All I've come across is posters of Big Bang and Park Ji Sung.  I'm looking for something a touch more mature and more modern than the random Korean paintings I see around.

Any thoughts would be very welcome.

There are some in Dong-gu. You'll find a little information here: http://ulsanonline.com/nightlife/
But since myself and the other writers live more in town there are more bar/restaurant reviews for Samsandong
and Shinae.

We'd welcome having someone write up dong-gu bars and restaurants for our pages.  I'll pay money for articles of 500+ words with pictures for reviews.  If you're interested, contact me.
