Is there a visa run guide on Ulsan Online?

Does anyone have a link to the old Fukuoka run article from the Busanweb?

I would like to know which buses to take from the ferry terminal in Japan to the Korean consulate.

We have all the old Ulsan Pear articles archived.  I found the Visa Run article in the 2006
issue here:   http://ulsanonline.com/2006-06.pdf

It's probably worth revisiting this and updating it with whatever new information you might encounter
such as ferry availability, etc.

Cheers,

If you book through Kangsan, they give you a whole visa run handout with maps and ways of getting to the Consulate, including bus numbers.

In my experience, however, it is much more efficient to find another runner on the ferry or in the terminal and share a taxi - it's about 1500 Yen, but split with 3 it's not much more than the bus, but you get there way faster.

Good advice for the taxi, but last time I did it (start of this month) the taxi was 1900 Yen direct.

Also, if you are taking the taxi, get tourist infomation in the terminal to write you a little note saying 'i want to go to the korean consulate'.  Makes the language barrier a little easier with the taxi drivers.  Tourist info can also give you a map to the city as well of course!

When you get to the consulate, or just around town, try to pick up the 'Fukuoka Now' monthly city guide in English.  In it you can find out all thats going on for the time that you'll be there, and they definitely have it on the little tables at the consulate.

I've done it so many times that I now usually just take rollerblades, and grab a starbucks at the Hawkstown mall and beat the bus people...

Wow dose no one know about the tourist subway card? 600 yen gets you an all day pass on the subway. Ask the kind ladies at the tourist information booth on with the machine is. Unless you are in a huge hurry, I would take the subway rather than the bus. It gets within a 10 minute walk from the Consulate. Hey, if you bring your rollerblades you'll get there faster...

I still stand that because it's flat and the drivers are all so kind that you take rollerblades or a bicycle with you!
