inferno (NOUN - Italian, hell, from Late Latin infernus)

  1. A place or condition suggestive of hell, especially with respect to human suffering or death.
  2. A place of fiery heat or destruction.
 

What is it?

 

The Inferno is an all-day, two-wheeled scavenger hunt to visit the scenic sights in and around the city of Ulsan.

How?

 

Armed only with a bicycle, scooter or motorcycle, over the course of the day each team will need to visit 10-12 areas in and around UIsan. Teams will be given the exact location of the areas one day before the rally (no Sooners - this ain't Oklahoma)

Plan your routes carefully - this is NOT a race, although your time will be limited. Don't daudle!

The winner will be the first team to complete all locations and have the most points. How does one score points? Below is a non-inclusive list of how points may be obtained. Judges are free to award extra points for extreme creativity.

  1. At each location you must take a photograph of the objective. The camera must be digital (seriously, does anyone even have a film camera anymore?) as the card(s) will given to judges upon completion of the rally. Your picture should capture you and your teammates in the "scenic" beauty of the location - Creativity Counts! This point is Mandatory for all areas.
  2. Pictures with police.
  3. Pictures kissing an Ajumma.
  4. Nudity
  5. Scooter Kill: a photo of white spray painted outline of a scooter accident. Extra points if it's your scooter and you still manage to complete the rally.
  6. Stop signs: photograph a rare red signs that people ignore

Judges are free to deduct points for tastelessness, violations of law, utter disrespect for the environment or other egregious errors.

When?

 

Inferno 2010 will start at 11:00am on Saturday, June 5 - weather permitting.

The cut off time will be 4pm, at which point if you have not finished or are already on your way back to the finish area, you should go to the finish area.

 

Where?

 

Inferno 2010 will start from the Tourist Information Center at Ulsan Train Station.

Who?

 
Hell's Ajummas - Ulsan Chapter, is Ulsan's only waygook scooter gang. Comprised mostly of members with far too much time on their hands, we ride throughout the Ulsan Metropolitan region and Gyeongsangnam-do province.
