Changes to Ulsan’s Bus Routes Starting December 21, 2024

Starting Saturday, December 21, 2024, Ulsan’s city bus routes will undergo a significant overhaul to improve efficiency and accessibility. These changes are part of Ulsan’s ongoing efforts to create a more citizen-focused public transportation system using data-driven analysis and public feedback.

Key Highlights of the Bus System Overhaul:

  1. New Route Configurations: Some routes will be entirely restructured to reduce redundancy and enhance connectivity between key areas.
    • Example: Route 133 will be reinstated, providing service between UNIST and Myeongchon Depot, addressing commuter demands in these areas.
    • Other routes, like 358, will adjust their endpoints to serve areas with higher passenger volumes more effectively.
  2. Discontinued Routes: A few underutilized routes, such as 233, will be permanently removed.
  3. Adjusted Frequency: Several routes will have updated intervals to better match demand. For instance, high-demand routes like 743 may maintain their 14-minute frequency, but final schedules are still under review.
  4. Improved Access to Suburban Areas: New connections will better serve outer districts, but concerns about accessibility in certain rural zones are being addressed through supplemental planning.
